Nwando has been commissioned by Aurora Orchestra as part of their Inside Beethoven series to respond artistically to Beethoven’s 5th Symphony with the performance taking place at The Printworks in London on 23rd March. As the orchestra plays Beethoven’s 5th Symphony from memory, the audience moves amongst the players for a unique orchestral sound experience. Around and between the movements of the symphony, Nwando’s immersive audio-visual composition will guide audience members to uncover the secrets of the music and of the space. The piece, entitled Amor Fati/Love of Your Fate - The Heroine’s Journey, draws elements of Beethoven’s soundworld together with electronic music to create a mesmeric experience inspired by The Fates in Greek Mythology, Nietzschean philosophy as well as the symphony’s famous motif, said to represent fate knocking at the door.
